Is It Possible To Be Happy?

A user over at Reddit.com, who goes by Privatepyle82, submitted a question to Reddit’s “AskReddit” section.

Privatepyle82′s Question:

“Is it possible to be happy?”

The thread is now trending across the Web. If you Google “Is it possible to be happy?” it’s already in the top five results.

But one user’s comment in particular stood out to me because it basically sums up my view on happiness.

“If you truly find ‘Is it possible to be happy’ a valid question, then you must also ask yourself ‘Is it possible to be unhappy’. People never think about the later [sic], it’s just assumed that happiness is something you strive for and unhappiness is ever present. Both are equally real and reachable, and if unhappiness requires no effort to reach, then happiness doesn’t either. It just requires you to change your frame of mind. Does this make sense to anyone?”
