Whenever possible, I drive at night when there’s the least amount of traffic. I love driving at a constant pace — be it 25, 35, 65, or 85.

I loathe traffic, especially start and stop traffic. It’s inconsistent. Maybe it’s a control issue. I don’t know.

For most of my life, I’ve been someone who favors focus and repetition. I do also crave adventure. And even though adventure can be erratic, start and stop traffic isn’t my idea of adventure.

But when I went to college, I seemed to lose focus. I’m not exactly sure why, but I think it had to do with the college lifestyle. You’ve got friends, “friends,” studying, dating, work, sporting events, drinking, parties, and on and on. It was start and stop, start and stop almost everyday. In a sense, I lacked focus for awhile. And I kind of lost myself through all this. (Though, I did enjoy a lot of it because it was adventurous.)

Even now, on occasion, I’m tugged in all different directions. But I now have the discipline to not chase adventure. I pick the ones that really interest me and then I fully immerse myself in these experiences.

It used to be start and stop. Now it’s start and experience.

adventure is always the byproduct…

nice post.

Although driving at 85 really kills your gas mileage (http://mpgforspeed.com/) so watch it Frodo.
